What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a complete system of alternative medicine which assists the natural tendency of the body to heal itself. It recognises that all symptoms of ill health are expressions of disharmony within the whole person, and it is the person who needs
treatment, not the disease.
Homeopathy means "similar suffering". It was discovered by a German doctor, Samuel Hahnemann who realised, like Hippocrates two thousand years earlier, that there are two ways of treating ill-health; the way of opposites and the way of similars.
Homeopathic remedies work by stimulating the body's own healing power. This stimulus sets up a reaction which assists the body to clear itself of any symptoms of imbalance.

Why and when would you use homeopathy?
Very often there are occasions when conventional medicine is not recommended. Sometimes side effects of medication are more problematic than the complaints they are treating, leading to a need for further prescriptions and complications.
Use of antibiotics in children for acute illnesses is not always appropriate or recommended.
Conventional medication is not advised during pregnancy.
