Meet Jacquie Wilce...
My work in Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) has been an extension of my professional work. I trained as a registered psychiatric nurse in Gloucestershire and after several years of practice I left to explore other avenues of the university of life, the journey of life as it often does made me look at this journey and on reflection my ethics turned to that which it very much is now; we have but one life and we should live it.
Following a move to Wales I returned to nursing with a richer and more reflective way of seeing the persons before me and I feel that this has enabled me to continue to remain passionate about my work. I soon decided to explore different aspects of psychotherapy work including training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and then in 2007 took a foundation course in SFBT which led me to completing a Diploma in SFT with BRIEF in London.
My outlook on life continues to be one of helping others to live their lives to the full, whether it is in my leisure pursuits or in my work as a therapist. I presently work in Powys as a mental health practitioner.
I have now lived in mid Wales for over ten years, I enjoy spending time with my daughters, friends and family, I enjoy outdoor pursuits and to mention a few I would have to include mountain biking, which includes participating in the construction of Off Road route guides, hill walking with my dog, horse riding, also aerobics, and dance.
Regards
Jacquie
